SADNESS

Ripped and torn and scattered and broken; that is the landscape in the aftermath of the deadly tornado that left a swath of destruction from Nashville to Cookeville, TN. As if it decided to take a drive down Interstate 40, it is marked as a black horizontal dash on the map. That dash reflects so … Read more

FOLLOW

I had always pictured following Jesus as literally being behind Him; wanting to grab the tassel of His robe, and grateful for the dust that His sandals kicked up in my face. Sometimes I’d picture us walking side-by-side as He’d guide me. Proximity was everything, but, never, ever, ever, did I imagine I could follow face-to-face in the same way as a dance! That type of closeness was an affection I had never imagined.

CHANGE – (Part Two)

CHANGE YOUR MIND: Reshaping your thought-life is one of the most important ways to grow emotionally and spiritually. Reframing is one way to change your mind. MORE OF ME

I found myself squeezed between two towers of never-ending cardboard packages in the back of a UPS truck. I suppose I shouldn’t have been too surprised that my REM sleep would take me there after a night of online shopping! In this dream an angel appeared beside me. His spectacular wings were tall and neatly … Read more

LIVING ON PURPOSE

Why am I here? Has that weighty question about your purpose ever settled over you? It’s a question that philosophers through the ages have tackled. There are many different views, however all views agree that purpose is a big deal. As Christians, our view is shaped by the good news of the work of Christ. … Read more

A BRIGHT, HUMBLE LIGHT

How do you walk out Christian humility? God has me admiring the type of humility that godly leaders with a platform, entrepreneurial or non-profit business, ministry, or creatives form. What do all these roles have in common? These Christians point people to Jesus with way more visibility on themselves than most of us.  The artist, … Read more
